Created with the “Tempus” Collection
We made a big change almost exactly 6 months ago, when we moved from the heart of the city to the middle of the forest on an island.
A strange decision in many ways (especially the choice of island …) but one we have not regretted because we instantly felt calmer, relaxed and more connected with nature.
There is a sign when you get off the boat to the island which reads “Slow down - you’re here”.
And while life is, in many ways, busier and more active (with lots of walking and swimming and much more socialising) it definitely has a different pace to it.
One of the things I do most days is walk the forest road, and I come home with handfuls of leaves and weeds that will eventually make it into one of my digital collections.
And on a Sunday I mess about with paint and ink, or cutting up paper pieces.
The concept of ‘slow living’ is the inspiration for a new collaborative collection with Rachel Jefferies (check out her Pixels and Paint newsletter) called ‘Tempus’.
Initially growing out of the ‘slow food’ movement, slow living involves curating a more meaningful and conscious lifestyle focusing on what you value most. It means taking your time to enjoy what nurtures your soul, instead of rushing through life constantly trying to do more, faster.
Here are a few more pages Rachel and I have made with ‘Tempus’
Meanwhile: ‘This Little Life’ is now at Oscraps
