Build up a page - digitally or with scissors & glue
Digital mixed media art with the "Hear My Voice" project
Goodbye to the city. Created with Hear My Voice: Building
It’s easy to lose yourself in the joy of creating using mixed media assets such as those in the ‘Hear My Voice’ project collections.
My process is to start with a background ‘paper’. Each collection (aka set of downloads) includes numerous options for background or canvases for your creations. Some simple, some so detailed you can pop a photo on and call it done!
Here are some from the latest collection:
Then I almost always grab png elements from the ‘mixed media’ part of the collection. In the case above, the city line drawing and the berry and clock ‘paint’. I also added the painted botanicals from the elements pack.
The ‘mixed media’ elements are those which don’t require a drop shadow to be added. They are essentially ‘one or low dimensional’, for want of a better way to describe them, and are perfect for peeking out behind the photos or other dimensional elements and building up your page.
Next I place my photo (usually inside a frame) and add the dimensional elements.
I used the “Hear My Voice: Building collection from the Hear My Voice collaborative project with Rachel Jefferies of Pixels and Paint.
As you can see in the video, you can use it to build a page with scissors and glue as well!
The theme of ‘building’ can be as literal or metaphorical as you wish. Are you literally building a home? Or building the life you want. Building a firm foundation for your family? Or building a relationship?
Here are some other of my own creations made with the same collection:
And here are some creations by Rachel:
Well done again you two.
