HOLIDAY TREATS + THE POWER OF FACES
This week's treats plus examples of the faces our eyes are drawn to
YOUR HOLIDAY TREATS AWAIT
Over at The Lilypad, instead of the usual mid-weekly sale, there will be lots of recent products HALF PRICE all through December.
The second batch from Rachel and I has been discounted for the past few days.
On Friday we will swap them out for a new batch of designs (so if you haven’t already checked them out, you need to move fast).
PS if you are not seeing 15 items, it could be an issue with Chrome browsers, in which case you can the ‘Holiday Treats’ store section in the sidebar of The Lilypad store
THE PSYCHOLOGY OF FACES
You probably know already how the human brain is wired to detect and identify faces, and our eyes are naturally drawn to them and lock onto them.
In fact, the brain's fusiform gyrus, or fusiform face area, is the region that specialises in recognising faces.
That’s one reason why I believe layouts with photos have such appeal. But also why Rachel and I often include elements with vintage ‘face imagery’ in our collections of creative assets.
So here are just a few creations made with some of the designs that are in this week’s Holiday Treats event :-)
There are some really powerful “Hear My Voice” collections this week, along with a couple of my own favourite collections PLUS the photobook template sets that allow me to make travel pages like this:
I notice a couple of face elements in the form of epoxy buttons sneaking in those pages too!
A FINAL HEADS UP
Just a quick reminder that soon Rachel Jefferies and I will be merging our newsletters to bring you joint content and updates, under the new guise of “Pixels, Paper & Paint: Life in Pictures with Lynn and Rachel”.
If you do not consent to being on the mailing list for my rebranded joint newsletter, you can be removed simply by unsubscribing. (If you are already subscribed to Rachel, you do not need to do anything, we will handle it)

You use facial portrait elements so well in your scrapbooking Lynn, it's almost an iconic part of your signature style, definitely adds more emotion and context, I should try it more often.
These are stunning examples and your new to me lingo about fusiform gyrus was interesting to read!
