Skylane Inn, Hawaii, created with “Marina Del Rey” and “Messy Pockets Noted No.4”
Have you started watching “Fallout”? Don’t take this as a recommendation, as it’s a bit heavy on the violence and the ‘jumping of the shark’ characters for me - BUT I do enjoy the kitschy ‘50s design elements that are constantly in the background (due to the concept that popular culture essentially halted at the point of the manmade apocalypse”).
The same aesthetic inspired my “Marina Del Rey” kit, which is in this week’s half price sale at The Lilypad.
It was also inspired by a trip to Vegas (again, not a recommendation LOL - but somewhere I had to go for a design conference and which we found equally fascinating and depressing)
Hints of the rat pack, late 50s/early 60s first heyday of Vegas is still there, and was a fun aspect.
The other kit in this week’s batch of specials was also inspired by a trip, in this case to Tokyo and in particular the hours spent in stationery stores there ogling all the cute and twee designs.
There’s a fun template set too:
A sneaky sneak peek
While I am here, I also want to give you a quick heads up that the next edition of the ‘Hear My Voice’ collaboration project with Rachel Jefferies is arriving at The Lilypad this coming weekend.
I am off to create with it right now!
Here’s my first layout:
Hope your week is going well :-)
