WHAT I WISH I KNEW
I love looking at the old photos and slides that my Dad, a keen photographer took. We have lots of photos of him and my mum on holiday, travelling in Scotland, and of our own travels and everyday life as children.
But what I don’t have is a record of what the little things that mattered to them were.
And I would love to see again the pictures and ornaments we had around the house when I was a child, and learn the stories behind them.
That’s why I have been documenting little glimpses of small things that matter to me, like our very minimalist Christmas decorations:

Another thing that matters is my partner’s love of birds and his successes in catching them on camera. He is so excited when he does, but then what happens to the photos? So I made this for him from his latest capture:
I used my new “Small Joys” collection, and it works for layouts of all kinds, from recording the small efforts to stay healthy (ish!), to everyday thoughts, to an old travel pic:

Yes!! small joys and the little things that matter. And I too love looking at photos. My grandpa took as he is where I got my photography natural skills from.
